You knew that even though he was right, you wouldn't admit it in a million years.

Tons of people are happy to claim that history repeats itself, but what most people fail to realize is that when history does repeat itself, the people who were involved usually learned their lesson and are usually not the ones doing the repeating. They were smart enough to avoid the situation again.

Our government on the other hand, refuses to learn from the history of other countries. The most recent example being Russia.

Hot Air has a piece today on McCain-Feingold taking another hit. One thing about the BCRA is that it is a very resilient piece of crap legislation having survived a premature trip to the Supreme Court. Now all that can be done is to pick it apart piece by piece -- which must be done for the sake of the country.

But one point I need to make is this: People don't forget their betrayers. Al least not within the span of their generation. McCain is seen unanimously by conservatives I know as betraying the very foundations of the Republic by infringing on free speech. I don't know what was going through my Senator's head when he worked on the this legislation. I can only hope he realizes that the reason he lost the election can be traced back to his arrogant disregard for the basic principles conservatives hold close to their hearts. Certainly, I would expect a veteran who spent time in a prison camp to never forget what he was fighting for.

So, we all contributed to spending $3 billion to save $350 million.

There is one undeniable truth you need to know about this bill: It creates a socialist state.

I know this because I read all 1018 pages of it.

It will effect every part of your life. If you ever need medical treatment, are in the medical profession, work in pharmaceuticals, work in the insurance industry, ever have children, ever grow old, or ever have taxable income you will be affected by this bill. It is so far reaching as to test one's imagination. To propose such a monstrous piece of socialist legislation in America is an act of treason. This bill represents a clear and present danger to our way of life and I'm sorry to say that if this passes you and I will be carrying guns in the streets because that's what it will take to reestablish our republic.

This is not a post about disinformation. Like I said, I read the bill.

To give you an idea of what's in this bill let's visit the now famous page 838. This part of the bill is titled "DESCRIPTION OF HOME VISITATION PROGRAMS". Some have said that this section authorizes mandatory at-home counseling sessions for expectant families. While this is not what the bill says, this is what it does. Taken in context, this part of the bill outlines the purpose for at-home counseling ("for the children") and what is required of state agencies who provide such counseling in order to get funding from the federal government. The state has to show a need for the program. It follows that the state would really want to get as many families on-board the visitation program as possible. The states will be pushing the fed's socialist programs because they want the money and I could see where the state would make visitations mandatory. For the welfare of the children, of course.

This is only one example of the hundreds of new programs, laws, and changes to existing laws in this bill!

Senator, I guarantee that I personally will do everything possible to inform patients and my fellow physicians about the dangers of the proposed bills you and your colleagues are debating.

Furthermore, If you vote for a bill that enforces socialized medicine on the country and destroys the doctor/patient relationship, I will do everything in my power to make sure you lose your job in the next election.
